Playground Fun!

This weekend went by way too fast! We were quite busy, but we made it a priority to spend some fun family time together as well!
We had planned to go to the playground first thing Sunday morning. Well sleepy head decided to sleep in until 10:15! We made it there closer to lunch time! Chad followed Weston up to the top of the clubhouse area and then they went down the big tube slides together. I don't think Weston is a huge fan of the slide. But boy does he love the swings!
Then Daddy was so nice to take some pictures of me and Weston together!
Later that afternoon I had a photoshoot with a 2 year old gal and a 3 year old boy. The little girl kept me on my toes the whole time. She was seriously a blur!! And that is when I did this to my foot:
My feet are crazy ugly, so ignore that part! See the bruise?!
After the session, I met Chad and Weston at Chad's parents house for dinner. Weston had so much fun playing with Aunt Julia's doll house...
What a nice weekend. I am ready for the next one already!

Shower tiles & Hallway paint :)

The bathroom is getting there. We have a few more weeks to go! The shower tiles are now finished! Every time Weston walks into the bathroom he yells "wow"! Wow is right, buddy. Daddy has been working his tush off these past couple months.
Next on our bathroom remodel to do list:
1. Sand and paint the walls
2. Install shelves by chimney
3. Buy a vanity (we are having a hard time finding one we like)
4. Install wall lights
5. Find a nice mirror
6. Paint doors, window trim, and floor trim
7. I am sure there are many tasks that I am forgetting!

Today, Chad's grandmother came over to play with Weston while I painted the upstairs hallway. I am the messiest painter. Of course I wore my favorite LLBean slippers and stepped in a puddle of paint that I spilled when filling my paint pan. Oops.

Shoes on the Go!

Yesterday Weston and I broke out the new Robeez that the Easter Bunny gave him and boy were they a hit! The shoes came with 3 different sets of transportation vehicles- trains, red cars, and airplanes. We decided the plane and the train would be fun for the day. Weston loves his new shoes!

Thank you iphone.

This morning I had a phone conversation with a gal who is interested in starting her own photography business. We chatted a bit and I gave her pointers on how to start up her business and lessons I have learned along the way. She asked me if I found it hard to find people who wanted professional pictures of their children since now these days everyone seems to have a pretty nice camera. This is so true. It seems like point and shoot cameras are pretty old school and everyone is getting dslr cameras. But EVERYONE uses their phones for taking pics too! I know it may be hard to believe, but my camera is not always right by my side. My phone is definitely right next to me most of the day. I take a few videos and about a million photos a week with my phone.
I think on Mondays I will share some of the MANY pics I take on my phone from the week before. :)

Thank you iphone.

Weekend Trip to NYC

This past weekend Chad, Weston, and I took a road trip to NYC (well Jersey City, but close enough) to visit our Charlottesville family! It took a little over 2.5 hours. What an easy ride. Weston slept for about a half hour each trip and then chatted, read books, and watched a few YouTube clips in the car.
We had such a wonderful time catching up with our Charlottesville family. Thank you Jenny and Brett for such an amazing weekend. Jenny is seriously the hostess with the mostess! She thought of everything and really made the weekend so special for everyone.
Weston trying to take a sip of Daddy's beer! :)
Here is one of the desserts that she made this weekend. I seriously have been dreaming about these bars since I tried them on Friday night. They are sooooo yummy!

Big Boy Table

My little baby thinks he is a big boy now! He has his own table (which I need a bigger one so that the chairs can fit under it). He looks forward to eating his snack at the big boy table everyday!
Look at that proud face. He loves when I tell him he is a big boy!
Feeding doggy:
"Hi Mom!"
And then Weston informed me that doggy pooped. Time to change his diaper! :)

Wishies...weeds!

Saturday morning Chad cut the lawn. Weston stood at the door saying "Tractor! Tractor!". He loves everything his daddy does, but the one thing he loves the most is when Daddy is on the tractor (lawn mower). Last week he sat on Chad's lap the whole entire time while mowing the lawn. I am not a big fan of it at all. I envision Weston falling off the tractor and getting his legs cut off (I know... gross). Or I wonder if it is too loud and may cause him to have some hearing loss? I am a worry wart. And now that I am a mother I worry even more!
Well yesterday morning I woke up to see this all over my front lawn! Ugh.
When I was a child these were not weeds. They were beautiful "wishies". I would blow and make a wish not knowing that the 30 some wishies would make another amazing, magical plant ... AKA WEED! I called Chad right away and told him we need to do something about our lawn. It looked beautiful on Saturday and Sunday. Then Monday came and now our lawn is full of weeds. No so pretty anymore.

Evening in Canton

Sunday we spent the evening with my cousin and her fiance. We had planned for me to take their engagement pictures and then go out to eat. The weather was just perfect. Chad strolled Weston around while I snapped a few pictures of the two lovebirds.
During picture time, I would find Weston looking oh so stinkin' cute and I just had to snap some of him too. :)
Can you tell we need to hem is shorts!? Poor lil guy.
And then I had my cousin take a few shots of my family! :) Thanks Chris!

Puppy Lovin'

I can tell these two are really starting to like this kid…
Weston’s mission is to find every stick in the yard for Norm. She was so happy not to have to get up. Every minute there was a new stick for her to chew.

Date night with W

My little man and I had a date night tonight. We went out to eat (just the two of us) to the local pizza restaurant and then came home to enjoy the beautiful evening outside...
Love him.

Sour Cream Brunch Cake

I could seriously eat this cake all day long! Soooooo yummy!
Sour Cream Brunch Cake
1 box yellow cake mix
1 small package vanilla instant pudding
1/2 c. oil
1 c. sour cream
4 eggs
2 tsp. almond extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine ingredients in a large bowl and beat 4 minutes at a medium speed. The batter will be very thick. Pour into a greased and lightly floured bundt pan. Cook cake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool cake for 10 minutes on a cooling rack. Then turn out onto a plate and lightly sprinkle powdered sugar over the top.
