Earthquake, tractor, and sink!!! :)

(Silly title, but did not know what to name it!)
Oh boy!! What a crazy week it has been! First the earthquake and then Hurricane Irene!!!
Here is a picture that I took exactly 5 minutes before the earthquake happened! We were busy eating lunch when the house started to shake! At first I thought my washing machine was on the spin cycle until I realized that I put the door frame back in earlier and closed up the laundry closet (these old houses have tiny spaces... so Chad had to come up with a way for us to fit a regular size washer and dryer.... I will post a pic of that later and explain). Then, I thought our house was falling over since it is so OLD.... built before 1850! And FINALLY it hit me that we were having an earthquake! I grabbed Weston out of his high chair as fast as I possibly could (which led to PB sandwich and banana all over the floor) and we ran to the bathroom!!! That was CRAZY! Thank goodness everyone is OK!
Saturday morning, Chad rushed to get the lawn cut before the rain came! Weston enjoyed a ride on the mower with Daddy!! He was so happy! After mowing the lawn Chad wanted to get into a project for the house. He ended up putting in a new kitchen sink! It is HUGE!

W's New Toy!!

Today was a pretty gloomy day here. Weston took a 2 1/2 hour nap and boy that was amazing! It could have been because he has a cold and needs the rest or maybe because it was super dark in his bedroom this morning. Probably both. While he slept I got LOTS of photog stuff accomplished! 4 shoots from last week are packaged and ready to be mailed! Now I have 1 more shoot from last week to edit as well as the 2 from this week. Ugh... not to mention I have another shoot tomorrow (which was supposed to be tonight, but got canceled because of the weather). I am having SO much fun, but finding it hard to catch up. Next week I only have 2 shoots (unless my shoot on Sunday is canceled which it probably will be because of the hurricane) so I should be able to try to stay on top of the pictures!!

Anyway... today was pretty gloomy. Weston and I needed a change of scenery, so we headed for Goodwill. :) Yes, Goodwill is one of my favorite places to go to find props, furniture to refinish, and well now toys for Weston. I needed something new for W to play with and did not want to spend a fortune so I checked out the toy aisle at Goodwill and found a few nice things!! We bought a Fisher Price Piano, telephone, rainstick, and this car!!! All purchased for $10!!! After scrubbing them clean, they looked brand new! Weston LOVES his new car!! I had a ball watching him crawl around and drive this car. Sometimes the car would drive a little too fast and he worked his lil tail off to keep up! Toooo cute! This video is a little shaky (because I pretty much laughed the whole time).

Home Sweet Home

We are officially all moved into our home! 16 days now! Weston absolutely LOVES his new home and we do too! It is nice to see all of our old neighbors. It took no time for Pepper and Norma to remember their boundaries. They just chill on the back porch soaking up the sun.

Some of Weston's favorite places and things in the house are:
-The kitchen pantry. He loves to take everything out!! Keeps him busy while I am getting dinner prepared or unloading the dishwasher.
-Playing in his playpen outside while Mommy works in the gardens! Pepper and Norma stay close to keep him company. Wonderful babysitters.
-The highchair!! Weston loves eating his meals at the highchair! No more bumbo! Cannot fit his chunky legs in that thing anymore. Here is a pic below of Weston trying peanut butter bread for the first time! He loved it!

- His crib. Weston has been taking wonderful naps. Usually 2 hours in the morning and 1 hour (at the most in the afternoon). He just lays right down without crying! It is so nice!! I hope it stays that way!

-The back door. You can see why! I will be cleaning away drool and handprints everyday! ;)

- His dino! Weston loves, loves, LOVES riding his dino.
And at the end everyday we are zonked...

Painting, Painting, PAINTING!

Well, the whole house is almost all painted! I still have the hallway up the steps and the hallway into our bedroom to do. After my photoshoot tomorrow morning, I plan to clean the upstairs first (so then the whole house will be squeaky clean) and then paint those areas. I took Weston by the house this afternoon and he just loves his new home! Boy, I forgot how small this place was! Here are some pictures of the main floor.
Family room

Living room... now Weston's playroom
Not a huge fan of the terra cotta pot covers on the chimneys! They were there when we moved in. But LOVE the brick!

Breakfast nook and kitchen
FYI... It looks like Christmas in the kitchen now with the green walls and red doors! The doors will be painted a deep, dark burgundy so it will not look as silly!

SO Sore!

I am laying in bed feeling SOOOOOO sore!! Sunday night Chad and I went to our house and walked through it with our renters. OMG... we have A LOT of work to do. I mean A LOT!! Everywhere we look, there is something to be fixed, cleaned, or painted. After swimming classes on Monday morning, I headed straight for the house. Kristin was so nice and decided to come and help (what a lifesaver)! We washed down the walls and started painting.
Monday's Accomplishments:
- painted kitchen walls (first coat)
- finished painting breakfast nook
- finished painting dining room
- finished painting master bedroom walls
I picked up Weston from my grandmother's house around 4pm. At 8pm I headed back to paint again!
After swimming lessons yesterday, I dropped off Weston at my mom's house and then started another day of PAINTING! Ugh... I am so tired!
Tuesday's Accomplishments:
-finished painting master bedroom floors
-finished painting family room
-finished painting living room (AKA Weston't play room)
- finished painting kitchen (except for the high part.... I need to take a ladder next time)
Again I was there until almost 10pm last night!

The house is filthy. Dog hair and gross grime everywhere! My goal for today is to completely finish painting the kitchen (high walls), paint Weston's room, and paint upstairs hallway. After lessons, I need to head to the paint store to get a few more things mixed. Then hopefully Friday I can spend the day scrubbing and cleaning every inch of that house before we move in Saturday!

Well, I need to get out of bed. In an hour and a half I need to head to the Athletic Club for swimming lessons with Weston. The question is... Can I get out of bed?!?!?!?!

Farm Fair

Thursday night, Chad and I took Weston to the Farm Fair!!! We left around 4pm and lil W did not last too long! He was pretty tired from the start. We introduced him to the cows, chickens, pigs, goats, bunnies, baby chicks, donkeys, ponies, and alpacas! His favorite animals at the fair were the pigs!! He loved the noise they made!!! It was so funny watching Weston watch the pigs... he had the biggest smile on his face! He did not like the cows at all!! We were able to get super close to one of the cows and it freaked him out!!!
And on our way home this is what Weston was working on...      :)

Baby Jail ;)

It has been almost a week since I wrote on here! This photography business is keeping me VERY busy!! I cannot wait until we move so I can get all of my props and photography materials organized. It is in complete disarray right now.  Weston has been up to so much lately. He is crawling all over the place and it is so hard to keep up with him. Since our little house on the farm is not baby-proofed and stuff is everywhere, I have been feeling like I am going to lose my mind. Last weekend, I bought a play yard gate (AKA baby jail) and it has been wonderful! Now Weston can crawl and climb up on things and I do not have to move him every two seconds!

Weston is also cutting 2 teeth!!! He will wake up a few times in the middle of the night and cry, but will eventually put himself back to sleep. Meal time has been a HUGE pain! Weston will scream, throw his head back, and cry. I am not really sure why?? Mostly it is with the vegetables… I think he may be picky like his mama. I have also been working on giving him the Gerber Puffs. He has no clue what to do with them. It takes him a while to pick them up and then he just throws them. I will end up putting them in his mouth and he just spits them out! Maybe we will try again in a few weeks.

We have one more week until we move into our house! I CANNOT WAIT! On Monday, Chad starts his new job in Baltimore and I will be headed to our house to clean and paint. I feel bad for poor Weston because I have different babysitters set up for him each day. We also have swimming lessons from 9-9:30 every morning for the next 2 weeks so that will be our time together! I hope he likes the lessons!! It should be lots of fun!
