Catching up on scrapbooking

For the past 3 years I have used a digital scrapbook program to make my albums. The most important thing is to stay on top of the photos. And I did just that until March came around. Then we had our 3 week stay in Maryland while Chad was in China, our New York trip, Beach week, moving, and time just flew by. Now I am working my tush off trying to finish my scrapbook for 2011. The page above is where I left off. I have TONS of pictures to add. OMG. My goal is 6 pages a night. I think I can. I think I can.....

Merry Christmas

Milk and cookies for Santa!
This Christmas was wonderful!
After a long day going to two parties on Christmas Eve, Weston was ready to go home and get to sleep. Santa was on his way so he needed to be nestled snug in his bed! We poured Santa a glass of milk in his special cup and set out some mini Chips Deluxe cookies too. Sorry Santa.... no homemade cookies this year. Weston even snatched a cookie before he went upstairs for bed!
The next morning, we woke up bright and early mainly because Weston could not get himself back to sleep after he woke up at 5:30am. By 6:30 we all rolled out of the bed (yes... we let him sleep with us for about an hour OOPS!)  and headed for the Christmas tree to see what Santa left us! Weston must have been a good boy this year because Santa left him lots of goodies. Some presents were cars, puzzles, books, clothes, blocks, magnetic animals, and a fun light up ornament.
Santa came!
Weston loved all of his presents!
Now toys are EVERYWHERE!
The rest of the day was a bit chaotic! But we had a lot of fun!
Gaga wanted to get a pic with all 3 of her grandsons. :)

Uncle Harrison restored Chad's tractor from when he was a boy. What a special gift!

Gingerbread House Party

Can you tell I have been totally catching up on my blog!? Lately I have been posting every 10 days or so, but now it is like everyday!
A few days ago I hosted the first annual Aunt Meggy's Gingerbread Party!! I have always said that I wanted to do this with the kids in my family. When making gingerbread houses with kids, you HAVE to prep before. I glued (yes, hot glued) the house pieces together the night before. About an hour before the kiddos arrived I made the icing. Click HERE for a great icing recipe. Then, I put all of the candy in separate bowls and decorated the table real cute so they would want to stay! ;) Do you like my gingerbread man tin plates! Will definitely be using them each year.

We had so much fun decorating the houses! Gaga helped Toby with his. They were having a ball. Tobs made this a competition and kept saying that they were winning!! He was loving it! And I was just getting a kick out it especially when he kept shoving candies in Gaga's mouth! Jayden and Melissa worked on their house. Jay was sampling the candies of course. And Weston sat in his little chair the whole time and did not complain at all! I was so amazed! As long as he had something in his hand (or mouth) he was happy! He actually did help with the house. See the red gumdrop on the roof of Weston's house? He put that there!! ;)
What a super fun party and it went so smoothly!

Homemade Christmas Cookies

I LOVE to make things out of felt. My craft cabinet is full of it so I decided to make Weston a set of Christmas cookies for his kitchen set. Chad was away this past weekend so I made some real chocolate chip cookies while Weston baked his yummy cookies!

Weston's Birthday

On Weston’s real birthday, we spent most of the day at home just relaxing and playing. Then, we headed to Gaga’s house for a yummy turkey dinner. Weston loved celebrating with his birthday buddy/aunt/god mommy and also family! What a special day! After dinner Gaga and Pop Pop gave Weston his kitchen set. He LOVES it! We went home and Weston opened his gifts from Mommy and Daddy. We got him pretend fruits and veggies for his kitchen, a few books, and a UVA onesie.

We took the kitchen set home and the next day Weston and I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to buy some wooden pots and pans and also a rug so his bum would not get cold while playing on the tile floor. We also got some adorable play food by Melissa & Doug- waffle box, milk, orange juice, yogurt, and some other goodies. I may be having a lot of fun with this play kitchen too?!
W will always be a Wahoo. :)

Weston's Winter ONEderland

Weston’s 1st Birthday party was a hit! I woke up at the crack of dawn and began loading the car with all of the decorations and food. Then, we headed straight to the hall to set up all of the tables and chairs. Julia was a huge help with decorating and blowing up all of the balloons! That sure was a task. We got to the hall around 8am and it took all the way until the beginning of the party (1pm) to get everything ready.

All ready to celebrate!
I am so happy that I had a craft area for all of the kiddos. They colored penguin ornaments and made wintery frames with foam stickers. Santa came to Weston’s party too! Some of the kids were so excited to sit on his lap, but not Weston! He was not too happy about it at all! After Santa, we sang “Happy Birthday” and then Weston got to eat his cupcake! He loved the icing! Just like mommy.  ;)

Yum!
We had so much fun celebrating Weston’s birthday with all of our family and friends!
When we went home Weston opened all of his gifts. Oh. My. Goodness! LOTS of gifts! Weston is having a ball playing with all of his new toys. Our tiny house now looks like a childcare center.
Soooo many coffee filter snowflakes!

 What a FUN day!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

OK. So I am going a little out of order, but wanted to post some pics of our Christmas tree adventure! Chad, Weston, and I headed to Jarrettsville Nursery to find the perfect Christmas tree. We ended up walking through the clearance lot. I think they were around $40 compared to the $60 trees. The lot was definitely picked through which made the search for the perfect tree a whole lot harder, but there was no way we were going to pay over $60 for a tree that we would only need for 3 weeks. We FINALLY found the tree! It is so funny how it looked so much smaller outside because inside our teeny house the tree is HUGE! We had to trim the bottom of it and it is still touching the ceiling. No room for the star this year. ;)

We found the perfect tree!
Weston loves riding on Daddy's shoulders.
The boys hard at work.
Ready for a nap!
Love him to pieces.
